Description: Ladi Mbala is a Congolese musician, guitarist and singer-songwriter. He began his professional career in Almighty Zembe Zembe in Kisantu (D.R. Congo) as Rumba guitarist. Ladi Mbala uses a technique is time-gathering similar to Rumba players like Franco Luambo Makiadi,Lutumba simaro & Vata Mombasa.
Mbala was born (1952) and raised in Lemfu (Bas-Congo), he first played the guitar while learning two chords and developed the rest himself. At a young age, he played guitar in the group "Almighty Zembe Zembe" “All-Shock Banita”, Bayike (Ex Kiam of Verckys Kiamwangana Mateta) and then formed his own group "Egogo Moto-Moto.
He joined the "Big Stars" group of general Defao Matumona where he was a key figure as arranger. He traveled around the world with Defao Matumona, Kanda Bongo Man Mose Fanfan. In addition, he recorded several albums in his career.
As a multi-instrumentalist,He then embarked on a successful solo career, alternating between Rumba & Soukous singing, he now lives in the U.K.
